Masso Antico Primitivo, with its ruby red colour and its complex bouquet, is characterised by intense and fine aromas, that go from mature fruit to spicy notes.
Wine with a straw yellow color and elegant aromas of fruit and almonds, citrus and tropical notes. In the mouth it is fresh and harmonic, with a long and pleasant finish.
Grapes are picked up manually and placed in small cases. Once in the cellar, part of the grapes undergoes a drying process at controlled humidity and temperature. Thanks to this process, the grapes lose weight and the sugar level and aromas are enhanced.
Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks where the liquid acquires complexity and structure. Fermentation follows and part of the wine is matured in wooden barrels for 3 months, then blended with the other wine and bottled.
Food pairing: It is a perfect accompaniment for all courses; ideal with raw or cooked crustaceans, light sauces and fresh cheeses.

Thanks to their extensive knowledge of the multitude of terroirs and climates across the country, the Masso Antico wines are great reflections of the land in which they are produced whilst being modern and approachable.
Masso Antico’s wines are produced by Schenk Italian wineries which was founded in 1952 and is one of the leading wine producers and exporters of Italian wines. Two flying winemakers, five oenologists and highly trained staff look after the whole production process from vineyards to the finished product. Long-term partnerships with a number of carefully selected grape growers across Puglia means that the best fruit is selected to make the Masso Antico wines.
Bacchus Wine Merchant is a well-known, respected, family-owned wine distribution company established in 2001 by Jo Newton who is still the Managing Director today.
Over the past 15 Years our tremendous growth has allowed us to expand our distribution into Queensland and Victoria. From humble beginnings, Jo ran the company from her spare bedroom in Cremorne, to now, with over 15 employees in 3 states.
