About Max & Me Wines
Max & Me is located in Eden Valley, the beautiful high country of the Barossa. From Boongarrie Estate on the slopes of Keynes Hill at 430-460 meters elevation, Max & Me produces Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, olive oil, plus Riesling from Flaxman’s Valley, and Grenache from Springton.A true reflection of the variety, vineyard site, and vintage is the mission at Max & Me wines and olive oil, made by Phil & Sarah Lehmann. Their wines use minimal additives, and almost all of them are vegan.
Phil developed his winemaking philosophy during his formative years growing up in the Barossa Valley. His philosophy was further refined through overseas winemaking experiences in Napa Valley, Burgundy, and Stellenbosch, as well as his local winemaking stints at Yalumba, Peter Lehmann Wines,Teusner & Vickery.
Sarah danced classical ballet and contemporary dance, including ten years with Queensland Ballet,The Australian Ballet, and Leigh Warren and Dancers, before earning a degree in science. In an unbelievable twist, 2 decades later, Sarah Lehmann (Peace) returned to Australian Ballet between December 2022 and June 2023, “… performing with Australian Ballet stars past and present in Paragon, the 60th-anniversary production”.
