NGERINGA Iluma Viognier 2022 (6 Bottles) Adelaide Hills

$356.00

AUSTRALIA WIDE SHIPPING INCLUDED

“Less skin contact than recent Viognier vintages has allowed for better balance.” – Erinn Klein, Winemaker

A wine with classic primary Viognier characters of candied orange-peel and crisp apricot with undertones of bitter almond and beeswax. Uncommonly zippy on the palate for a Viognier, with an enticing sea-air salinity and notes of grapefruit pith. An accomplished interplay between firm acidity and chalky tannic structure.

50% whole bunch and 50% destemmed. 50% skin contact for two days. Matured for one year in well-seasoned French oak on full lees. 100% malolactic fermentation. Bottled under glass Vinolok closures.

Wild fermentation, no enzymes, spontaneous malolactic fermentation, gentle extraction, warmer fermentation, minimal temperature control. No fining. Estate bottled. Small amounts of sulphites added before bottling.

About Ngeringa

Ngeringa is a certified biodynamic vineyard and winery specialising in classic, fine wines that are full of vitality and born of tradition.

Our vineyards are located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, South Australia, a region reputed for producing some of Australia’s most elegant cool climate wines.

Winemaker, Erinn Klein and co-founder, Janet Klein create Ngeringa wines, oil and vegetables on their farm which they have nurtured with great care. Originally part of the world-renowned Jurlique herb farm, their land has been certified biodynamic for more than 20 years. Ngeringa is one of Australia’s original biodynamic winegrowing pioneers.

Principal Wines

We are wine lovers with no agenda, except to work with people who grow grapes, and to put their wines into the hands of people we respect.

We bring many years’ collective experience working in restaurants and winemaking to Principal Wine and think we have a pretty good idea of how a great glass of wine tastes.

Things change all the time in the world of wine, but our core values always remain the same - to work with people who make their wine in the vineyard, to have fine wine to sell to places we’d like to drink ourselves, and to provide excellent service.
