This range of wines, named after fashionable fabrics, feature the iconic paisley design for which the company is named. The pattern became synonymous with the Scottish town of Paisley situated close to Glasgow and was the birthplace of Kirsten’s great-great grandfather, who emigrated to Adelaide in 1839.

The colour is mid red. The perfumed nose exhibits lifted raspberry, wild strawberry fruit, potpourri, with thyme and sweet spice notes. The medium bodied palate has plump and juicy sweet fruit predominately strawberry jam, pomegranate, mint, hints of liquorice and an earthy note. The old vines ensure weight and depth on the palate and the fleshy and supple tannins add to the mouthfeel of the wine with a mineral edge. The wine is balanced through the palate and the juicy berry flavours linger nicely.

This wine has excellent aging potential; it drinks well now but will continue to improve with careful cellaring for the next seven to ten years.

Paisley Wines is created through the Kirsten & Derek’s love affair with the Barossa.

Together with their daughter, they reside among the fifteen premium acres of Shiraz, Mataro & Fiano that grace their hilltop family estate in Angaston, forming the bedrock of their portfolio.

They share the property with a couple of cats, some chooks and guinea fowl and a flock of cute sheep. Generational 80 year old Grenache & 40 year old Shiraz from the southern Barossa & old vine Shiraz from the Barossa’s western ridge embody the Paisley Wine story of family & regions.

Known for its vibrant label designs and paying homage to family, the Paisley Wines Fabric series celebrates the town of Paisley and Kirsten’s great-great grandfather’s journey from the Paisley in the Lowlands of Scotland to the City of Adelaide. The Mixed by DJ Deadly Series and the Celtic Series are anything but traditional and reflect the couple’s approach to life.
