Purple Reign Semi-Sweet Blend is a special blend of white grape varietals selected from some of Australia’s best growing regions. This fruit driven wine product is infused with natural botanicals to minimise the use of sulphites in the wine making process and to create a unique new colour and vibrancy. The nose is soft and floral with a hint of lychee aroma, while the palate displays peach, apricot, and nectar flavours with a smooth semi-sweet finish.

About Masstengo

Masstengo (the company who produces Purple Reign) was created to push the boundaries of wine making with an aim to remove synthetic additives that cause harm in humans such as sulphites and replace them with safer more beneficial alternatives.

Founder Tim Macnamara, whilst studying a masters of environmental sustainability, and working as a wine representative, was interested in finding natural ways to preserve wine without using sulphites. He began researching and experimenting techniques of adding various natural infusions to wine.

Business partner Ross Stewart was working in the liquor industry specialising in organic, biodynamic and preservative free wine. With a science background, some boutique wine making experience and a recently completed MBA, Ross bought both sound financial and scientific knowledge to the team.

After about two years of experimenting Masstengo launched the first wine Purple Reign at the 2019 Royal Easter Show in Sydney. The response was fantastic with 95% conversion from tasting to purchase and the entire production of wine sold out before the show finished.

We have harnessed nature’s rarest colour and most powerful visible wave-length to create a popular style of wine embellished with mystery and nobility. Sourced from the pristine Margaret River and Great Southern growing regions of Western Australia, this blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc is enhanced with natural antioxidants to minimise the use of sulphites and to create a unique purple colour and vibrancy. This lush style wine exhibits a hint of grass and a touch of minerals with a perfect balance of natural acidity and freshness complemented by a crisp dry finish.
