Saving Grace Gruner Veltliner 2019 (6 Bottles) Waipara, NZ

$142.00 GST Included

Juicy lime, white florals and honeysuckle aromas delight, while the palate features apple, and delicate beeswax notes. Underlying minerality provides tension and draws out to a long, dry finish.

Description

It’s a riot of life here, if you look. Native jasmine hosting nature’s pest controllers. Bees bumbling drunk on nectar. Leaf pluckers in the shape of sheep. Mycorrhizae making magic. It’s our Saving Grace, for sure.

Growing
Our Grüner Veltliner was planted at the Mound Vineyard in 2013 and the first vintage was harvested in 2016. Paying homage to its spiritual home of Austria, we are watching it quietly flourish here. Mound Vineyard, Waipara Valley, North Canterbury.

Tasting
Enticing tropical fruit, spice and delicate florals are supported by subtle texture and lingering acidity, making this wine your perfect lunch date.

Winemaking
The grapes were hand harvested and pressed to stainless steel and seasoned oak barrels to harness the varietal character and impart texture and complexity.

Our Saving Grace
How do you say this?—we just call this groovy wine—because it is. It’s textural, interesting and fast becoming a favourite wine of many of our vineyard team.
