At 740m above sea level, Little Hampton’s extra cool nights help retain natural acidity in the grapes. As a result, this wine walks a tightrope, with sherbert acidity and lime pith falling off the side. A great example of cold climate Macedon Ranges Chardonnay and one that you are bound to enjoy.

This distinctive Chardonnay bursts from the glass with white florals, grapefruit skin and nectarine fruit notes while lemon tart and grapefruit spill immediately onto the palate.

Lemon zest and tangerine fruits spill immediately onto the palate. These fruit flavours are augmented by wild ferment characters such as choux pastry and barrel spice complexity. The wine walks a tightrope, with sherbet acidity and lime pith falling off the side. The flowing palate is long and intense yet continually develops through your first, second and third glass. A great example of cold climate Macedon Ranges Chardonnay.

About Shadowfax Wines

At Shadowfax we want our vineyards to express their own unique characters and the wine grown there to talk to the one who’s drinking it, by telling its own story. The grapes grown must reflect the site, thus each vineyard site must be grown depending on its own requests. If you look, listen and taste (both grape, vine and soil) the vineyard will tell you its needs and wants.

Whether that be some foliage manipulation, fruit thinning or it may be screaming out for a little drink, we will act. We are not afraid of new ideas, experimentation, trials and tribulation, whilst having a ball doing so. We want the vineyard to do the talking using the wine glass as its stage.”
