About Six Acres Wines
Nestled in the southern hills of the Yarra Valley, Six Acres boutique winery and vineyard is owned and worked by the Zuccaro Family, with the aim to produce bright, textural and complex wines in a way that maximises the expression of the quality and terroir of their hand-tended vineyard.
Six Acres is a family run vineyard and winery located in Silvan in the Yarra Valley, planted in 1999 by Ralph and Lesley Zuccaro. Situated with a picturesque vantage point at the tip of the southern Yarra Valley, the north-facing Six Acres vineyard benefits from rich volcanic soil and enjoys a cool climate, 250 metres above sea level.
The Six Acres vineyard – Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot – is dry grown in deep red volcanic soil. Yields are kept low to encourage balance and concentration within the grapes. Using organic principles and sustainable grape-growing. Viticulturally we only use organic sprays, promote natural grasses in an uncultivated permanent sward, we are developing a composting and mulching program to maximize the health of our soils.
The small size of the property means that the whole family is involved in the winemaking process. Our aim each year is to produce bright, textural and complex wines in a way that expresses the quality of our grapes and the terroir of our vineyard. All our wines are Vegan.
