South by South West is a small-batch artisan winemaker based in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. We craft wines of excellence and difference that combine respect for the land, with innovative viticultural practices, and both traditional and contemporary winemaking techniques. We want to excite and inspire people to enjoy and respect the terroir of the south west through contemporary interpretations that result in balanced, honest wines.
In addition to tending to our own organically farmed Wallcliffe vineyard we also purchase fruit from a loyal network of pioneering growers. It’s important to us that we can explain the origins of our wine and why we have created that style, the story behind each wine.
Each wine is given the opportunity to develop its own personality in a small batch where it receives the right amount of attention; personality that is founded on the fruit, and realised through the way it is produced, bottled and labelled. In keeping with the traditional aspects of winemaking, our style is focused on minimal intervention to showcase regions, varietals, and vineyards in their rightful form.
Our mission is to produce simple wines using great fruit and minimal intervention, to demonstrate the complex characteristics and values that best represent the south west.
