Winemaker Tom Ward isn’t one to overstate things, so when he told us his Shiraz was worth a look we knew we should pay attention. Considering its price level, this is an incredibly classy and sophisticated wine. Evoking the great cool climate Shirazes of France, it’s got beautiful flow and feel, delivering pepper and spice, blackberry and blue fruits, twigs and charcuterie meats. Has left many a taster guessing a much higher price point.

About Swinging Bridge Wines

Swinging Bridge is a winery based around family, striving to produce wines of excellence that exhibit the unique provenance of the Orange region.

From the estate’s position on the slopes surrounding Mount Canobolas (Gaana Bulla), winemaker Tom Ward’s craft reflects his enduring passion for high altitude winemaking, with a focus on the region’s quintessential varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir

Embracing innovation while grounded in heritage, Swinging Bridge’s wines are at the forefront of the Orange region’s development into a new frontier of celebrated cool-climate winemaking.

Our winemaker and Swinging Bridge owner, Tom Ward, is a passionate viticulturist and
winemaker, dedicated to producing quality cool-climate wines. Originally from Canowindra, Tom comes from a farming family spanning more than 150-years which led him to discover his passion for viticulture.

Now based in Orange with his wife Georgie and two children, Eliza and William, you will often find Tom tending to his vines, working hard in the winery or supporting operations in the cellar door.
