Voyager’s Shiraz has been going from strength to strength and this example, from a cooler season, is another leap forward. Sourced from select parcels from four Shiraz blocks, it offers the understated elegance of the Voyager style: bright and juicy, with hints of earth and spice.

Hand-harvested whole berries were fermented with gentle hand-plunging and pump-overs. Following ferment, the wines were pressed, transferred to barrel and matured in quality French oak (34% of which was new). The wine was matured in barrel for 12 months and racked periodically to aid clarification. The parcels were then blended prior to bottling in July 2018. It’s a spicy, meaty and complex Shiraz that is well captured by the note below.

“True to form with redcurrant, peppercorn, black cherry and smoky oak flavours pouring in medium-weight fashion through the palate. There’s a whisper of florals too. The query is on the finish, which is tight and gamey.” 91 points, Campbell Mattinson, Winecompanion.com.au

About Us

Voyager Estate is one of the founding wine estates in Margaret River, conceived by Michael Wright—a farmer and regional pioneer.

Established in 1978, in 2018 Voyager Estate celebrated 40 years since our original plantings. All our wines are 100% estate grown, made and bottled, and reflect the unique qualities of our place in Stevens Valley with its undulating slopes, warm summers and cooling maritime breezes.

We are one of Australia’s most innovative producers of world-class Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon and by 2023 we’ll be Certified Organic.

Our aim is to shine a light on what makes our unique place in Margaret River so special. Both through how we grow and make our wine, and how we share the experience of it with every visitor that walks through our door.

Fine Wine Cellars

On the one hand, our role as a merchant of all things wine & spirits could not be simpler. We aim to source the most delicious, the most authentic, and the highest quality products possible from Australia and around the world in order to offer them to our clients. We live or die by how well we perform this task. Of course things are rarely as simple or as easy as they seem. Hunting for wines & spirits is no different. Apart from the months spent travelling, countless days and evenings spent tasting and the outrageous wine expenditure in the name of ‘research’, sourcing quality wine and spirits requires expertise and experience. Understanding the potential of a producer and their products is much more than just a slurp and a spit.
