Bright gold. Attractive aromas of ripe pear, luscious apricot jam and orange marmalade. Summer flavours of ripe, semi-dried apricots, peaches and cream come to mind when tasting this wine. Although intensely sweet with a rich, luscious palate, the finish has a clean, lingering and balanced acidity.

Botrytis Cinerea, a pink and furry mould, is responsible for this delicious drink. The mould pierces the skins then feeds on the juice of the berries causing them to shrivel and concentrate. Mild and humid conditions are favourable for its onset and usually occurs at the end of the growing season. A somewhat messy winemaking process, but the resulting wine is a beauty from the beast.

About Woodstock Wines

To capture the essence of McLaren Vale we strive for absolute quality, beginning in our old vineyards through every phase of winemaking to the wines before you, wherever that may be. The WOODSTOCK wine portfolio includes a range of sparkling wines, fresh aromatic whites, opulent yet finely structured reds and finally, an eclectic selection of after-dinner wines.

he majority of our wines are sourced from WOODSTOCK Estate, which lies between McLaren Flat and Blewitt Springs, east of the town of McLaren Vale. Winemaker Scott Collett’s close proximity and deep understanding of these vineyards over many years maintains strict quality benchmarks of maximum flavour and intensity for which the WOODSTOCK Estate is known.

Although not yet certified organic, our vines are treated with minimal impact sprays and no pesticides. We tend our vine canopies by hand, and if required the vines are leaf plucked or crop thinned to ensure even ripening and good concentration of berry flavours.
