Instant aromas of fresh cranberry, and cherries, with a crunch and cranberry texture and could be mistaken for Beaujolais!

With a deep love for Rhone varietals, Michael and Susan have been experimenting with parcels of Cinsault since 2018 from different vineyards. Before today these parcels have been a crucial blending component to the Vin de Soif, Looking at parcels over the years many times the discussion was to keep and release a single parcel of a single varietal wine.

The 2022 parcel deriving from the Sonntag vineyard did just that, pushing the idea further to showcase this varietal independently.

The fruit is hand-harvested, crushed and basket pressed, spontaneous yeast ferment left to elevage for ten months in 100% seasoned French puncheon. Only one puncheon made and bottled, limited availability.

About Yelland & Papps Wines

Yelland & Papps is for wine lovers and enthusiasts of small batch, individual, elegant and distinctive wines. Those wanting a connection with a passionate, hands-on family winery.

Susan & Michael Papps shared love of wine and dream of producing their own wines from the vineyards of the world-famous Barossa Valley wine region came to fruition in 2005 with the establishment of their boutique wine brand, Yelland & Papps.

From the earliest days of Yelland & Papps, the relationships with longstanding Barossa wine growing families with a reputation for excellent farming and the highest quality grapes formed the foundation of the fledgling wine business.

These long-term friendships with many of the region’s best wine growers, each farming their wines on a selection of the famous terroirs that we have recognised across the Barossa, give Michael and Susan boundless options as they compose their individual wines each year.

The purchase of their beloved Nuraip Road property in 2010, with it’s own estate vineyards and winery sheds offered increased options for quality control and took Yelland & Papps to the next level as their soulful and thoughtfully produced wines garnered much praise from wine critics and a legion of fans who enjoy purely-fruited, minimal-intervention wines from Australia’s most famous wine region.

Today, Susan & Michael bring up their young family, raise livestock, grow their own produce and produce a range of diverse wines that reflect the intricate soils and microclimates of the Barossa.
