A bright green gold. Year in and year out, this wine delivers the goods. Pure fruited with stone and orchard fruits, orange blossom, fresh ginger and a touch of spice. It’s mouth-filling and textured yet super fresh. Finishes long and with a little apricot pith and fresh lime. Excellent. 97 points. Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion

Different maturity dates meant separate vinification, barrel-aged, no new oak, no bâtonnage, blended after 10 months. As usual, a dry blend that saves all the best for those who wait 5-10 years, this vintage especially. 95 points. James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2020

Marsanne 57%, Roussanne 43%. A wine of subtle intrigue that repays patience and contemplation, our 2017 Yeringberg Marsanne Roussanne white Rhone blend displays the hallmark balance and poise of the vintage. Beautifully complex aromas of pear, quince, honeysuckle and jasmine. The palate is savoury and expansive, while remaining understated, with the elegance of the vintage providing lift and freshness to the notes of orange blossom and quince that drive and sustain the palate. Improving over several days tasting implies this is a vintage that will give joy over many years. Sandra de Pury

About Yeringberg

The de Pury family tradition of excellence in winemaking and farming, which started in 1863, is continued today by fourth-generation siblings Sandra and David de Pury.

We make elegant single vineyard wines from our own grapes and grow grass-fed lambs and cattle. The lambs are available seasonally in selected Yarra Valley and Melbourne restaurants, and by occasional offers to our mailing list.

We do not have a cellar door, but sometimes hold tastings by appointment.

CellarHand is a fine-wine importer and wholesale distributor, with a portfolio featuring some of the most sought-after estates of Germany, Austria, France and Italy, as well some of the greatest producers from Australia and New Zealand. Our ethos has always been to build a portfolio as you’d construct the perfect wine list. We work with small, family producers who express the best of their regions. The wines we sell are the wines we enjoy, and the people who make them are like family to us. They are wines that taste of where they come from, and though they’re steeped in history and stamped with the signature of their terroir, they’re more than ever relevant – and desirable – to the Australian diner of today.
