Fruit from vines planted in 1999. Picked over 12 days with three different ferments (destemmed and crushed, whole berry and whole bunches), 12 to 30 days on skins and 19 months in oak hogsheads (30% new). No fining. Bright crimson purple. Aromas of boysenberries, dark raspberries, star anise and a gentle waft of oak-derived cedar. Medium bodied, gently plush and silken, this is already a delight. 95 points. Philip Rich, Wine Companion
A lot of complexity and savouriness come out to play this vintage, alongside a wonderful coolness across the palate. Expect dark plums, licorice and menthol, juniper, a dash of pepper and roasted root vegetables.
Shiraz 97%, Viognier 3%.
The 2021 Shiraz demonstrates again that our part of the Yarra can produce wonderfully spicy, elegant and age-worthy Shiraz. An energetic array of blueberry, white pepper, and bay leaf aromas leap from the glass, followed by Moroccan spice notes, liquorice and dark cherry.
The palate has brightness and energy as well as a beguiling subtle, savoury depth. The fruit rides on the back of a powerful yet perfectly pitched tannic framework that provides wonderful drive, and delivers a wine of freshness and length. The wine evolves beautifully, settling into its frame and showing lovely poise, control and lingering complexity.

About Yeringberg
The de Pury family tradition of excellence in winemaking and farming, which started in 1863, is continued today by fourth-generation siblings Sandra and David de Pury.
We make elegant single vineyard wines from our own grapes and grow grass-fed lambs and cattle. The lambs are available seasonally in selected Yarra Valley and Melbourne restaurants, and by occasional offers to our mailing list.
We do not have a cellar door, but sometimes hold tastings by appointment.
CellarHand is a fine-wine importer and wholesale distributor, with a portfolio featuring some of the most sought-after estates of Germany, Austria, France and Italy, as well some of the greatest producers from Australia and New Zealand. Our ethos has always been to build a portfolio as you’d construct the perfect wine list. We work with small, family producers who express the best of their regions. The wines we sell are the wines we enjoy, and the people who make them are like family to us. They are wines that taste of where they come from, and though they’re steeped in history and stamped with the signature of their terroir, they’re more than ever relevant – and desirable – to the Australian diner of today.
