Bright gold with green tinges. Richer and more opulent than last year’s wine but equally compelling. A heady mix of apricots, just ripened mangoes, orange blossom honey and a little freshly grated ginger. Voluptuous, silken textured and with excellent balance on the palate. Finishes focused and long. A hedonistic wine that’s probably best enjoyed in its youth. 95 points. Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion

This is exceptional Viognier. Benchmark. Be it Australian or French. This level of warmth is necessitated to showcase the exuberance of the variety: honeysuckle, apricot and ginger glaze. The billowing phenolic chew beautifully melded to a gentle wash of acidity. A plume of flavour brushing the cheeks. This could do with more phenolic pucker, but very fine.
95 points. Ned Goodwin MW, Halliday Wine Companion 2021

Never a wine to hide its light under a bushel, Viognier really grabs your attention with its exotic, perfumed opulence and flamboyance. Our 2018 is immediately inviting, full of rich apricot, mango and orange blossom aromas that are beautifully framed by delicate floral notes, and hints of spice, candied ginger and musk. The palate offers the same flavours with more intensity, and a delicate pithy acidity which keeps everything fresh and lively. A hedonistic wine of really wonderful volume, depth and generosity.

About Yeringberg

The de Pury family tradition of excellence in winemaking and farming, which started in 1863, is continued today by fourth-generation siblings Sandra and David de Pury.

We make elegant single vineyard wines from our own grapes and grow grass-fed lambs and cattle. The lambs are available seasonally in selected Yarra Valley and Melbourne restaurants, and by occasional offers to our mailing list.

We do not have a cellar door, but sometimes hold tastings by appointment.

CellarHand

CellarHand is a fine-wine importer and wholesale distributor, with a portfolio featuring some of the most sought-after estates of Germany, Austria, France and Italy, as well some of the greatest producers from Australia and New Zealand. Our ethos has always been to build a portfolio as you’d construct the perfect wine list. We work with small, family producers who express the best of their regions. The wines we sell are the wines we enjoy, and the people who make them are like family to us. They are wines that taste of where they come from, and though they’re steeped in history and stamped with the signature of their terroir, they’re more than ever relevant – and desirable – to the Australian diner of today.
