The palate is plush but linear, pulled together by bright acid and a touch of savouriness from the oak ageing.

Harvested in the cool of the night, slow even ferment with the mild ambient temperatures lead to deep but restrained fruit character with a touch of pepper. After 15 days on skins the wine was pressed and racked into older French oak barriques to help the tannins soften and amalgamate and add a touch of complexity to the wine.
Vines planted in the 1970s and grafted to shiraz in the 2000s. Alluvial soils (ie valley/river deposit) clay base with siltier soils on the top layer, good amount of organic matter, our coolest site towards the foothills of Blewitt Springs. 75m asl. Good amount of vigour, think more nuanced, spicy Shiraz.

Crafted in partnership between Gathered Wine and renowned McLaren Vale producers Paxton, Yetto Shiraz is sourced from the Paxton family’s certified biodynamic and organic vines.
Minimal winemaking intervention ensure the integrity of this exceptionally pure and expressive fruit, which originates from the commanding and regal Thomas Block towards the foothills of Blewitt Springs. The very first vines here were planted in the late 1800’s, making it one of the oldest surviving vineyards in the region, and therefore making Yetto a superb and quintessential McLaren Vale Shiraz.
