Warramunda Estate Logo Warramunda Estate

Warramunda Estate is a family-owned winery set on the north-facing slopes of Coldstream in Victoria’s renowned Yarra Valley. The estate’s name, believed to be Aboriginal for “tomorrow,” reflects its forward-looking vision and commitment to sustainable viticulture. The Magdziarz family purchased the property in 2007, embarking on a journey to nurture both established and newly planted vines and to create wines that truly express the unique Coldstream terroir.

The vineyard spans approximately 65 acres and features a diverse array of varietals, including Chardonnay, Viognier, Marsanne, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. In 2015, part of the Cabernet Sauvignon block was converted to Bordeaux varieties, enabling Warramunda to produce sophisticated blends alongside its single varietal wines.

Warramunda’s winemaking philosophy centres on minimal intervention and estate-grown fruit. All wines are naturally fermented with wild yeasts, and the estate employs organic and biodynamic practices to foster healthy soils and vibrant vines. The result is a portfolio of elegant, expressive wines that capture the essence of their site.

The wine list is both broad and distinctive. Signature Warramunda Estate releases include Viognier, Marsanne, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot, and Bordeaux-style Cabernet blends. The estate also produces the Liv Zak range, led by Olivia Zak-Magdziarz, which showcases vibrant, approachable styles such as Vintage Brut, Rosé, Malbec, and Syrah. Notable recent releases include the Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024, praised for its vibrancy and structure, and the Marsanne, celebrated for its mineral-driven complexity.

Though the cellar door closed in June 2024, Warramunda Estate’s wines remain available online, continuing to win acclaim for their purity, balance, and sense of place
