Established in 1992 by biochemist Dr. Ron Wise and his wife Sandra, Wise Wine was born from the merger of two remarkable properties—Geographe Bay Estate and Eagle Bay Estate—in the heart of Western Australia's renowned Margaret River wine region.

From the outset, Ron and Sandra enlisted the expertise of close friends and industry icons Warren Randall and Dorham Mann. Randall's viticultural advice, including his now-famous reference to the Shiraz block as a “Club Med for grapes,” led to a shift in direction—removing existing vines and sourcing premium fruit from across Western Australia. Mann, son of pioneering winemaker Jack Mann, helped shape the Wise winemaking philosophy: ripe, expressive flavours with elegant, minimal oak.

Today, Wise Wine sources fruit from many of Western Australia’s twenty distinct wine regions, producing wines that capture the essence of place—Chardonnay from Margaret River, Riesling from Porongurup, Shiraz from Frankland River, and Pinot Noir from Pemberton, to name a few.

Since 2007, Wise Wine has flourished under the direction of award-winning winemaker Larry Cherubino. His leadership has driven the winery to national acclaim, with James Halliday rating Wise a 5-star winery. Our state-of-the-art, small-batch winery allows for temperature-controlled fermentation and minimal intervention, ensuring balance, complexity, and varietal purity in every bottle.

Wise Wine is also home to one of Margaret River’s most iconic restaurants—the only one overlooking both vineyard and ocean. Set among the natural beauty of Meelup Regional Park and Geographe Bay, our cellar door is a must-visit destination for wine lovers.
