Mudgee’s original Chardonnay vines are regarded to be the source for much of Australia’s Chardonnay plantings from the 1960s. In fact, Craigmoor’s then winemaker, Pieter Van Gent, released the first Aussie Chardonnay in 1972. The variety achieved rockstar status in the 1980s.

This Chardonnay is a modern expression of the Australian style: medium bodied, with citrus, peach and melon fruit flavours. Delicate oak marries nicely with fruit & finished crisp and lively.

About Craigmoor Estate

Our winemaking heart and home lies within the beautiful Central Ranges district just over the Blue Mountains, north-west of Sydney.

Established in 1858 and surrounded by picturesque vines and gum trees on the banks of Eurunderee Creek, the Cellar Door, ‘Craigmoor’, is Mudgee’s oldest winery and vineyard. Craigmoor’s Footnote Series includes a total of eight varieties, sold through their cellar door, made in a modern day style that share Craigmoor stories of the past. Listen to the tales and taste the wines that reflect our Mudgee home.
