The palest of rose pink, this Split Pick Moscato offers a delicate and enticing mix of pink roses, fresh strawberries and musk.

With flavours of exotic tropical fruits, the palate is delightfully light and fresh; a subtle balance of sweetness with a crisp finish. Perfect as an accompaniment to a delicious brunch, or just on its own in the afternoon sun. Enjoy well chilled with spicy Thai prawns or an apple and mixed berry crumble.

Vineyards specialising in varieties from the Muscat family are often ‘split picked’ – fruit is picked first for crafting fresh and vibrant Moscato style wines, while the remainder of the vineyard
is harvested later for the creation of fortified wines.

The fruit was picked in the cool of the evening in order to preserve freshness and aromatics. Cool fermentation with aromatic yeast strains retains the lovely varietal flavours of the
Muscat grape. The ferment is stopped early to maintain the perfect balance between natural acidity and grape sweetness in the final blend.

Description

Dunes & Greene vineyards are strategically established in the finest regions of South Eastern Australia, allowing us to craft sparkling wines with character and panache. Deftly created and nurtured by our graceful and effervescent winemaker Teresa Heuzenroeder, Dunes & Greene craft sophisticated fizz.

The Winemaker
Teresa’s working life didn’t begin with wine – the making of it, that is. Teresa studied a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry and Microbiology at the University of South Australia, with a focus on food and wine chemistry. Favouring a commitment to gain broader work experience before entering the wine industry, the opportunity to join Yalumba as Microbiologist came in 1994.

Possessing a genuine love and appreciation of wine from her early years, Teresa’s progression from microbiologist to winemaker was inevitable. From there, she has never looked back; firstly, and very successfully, taking on the challenge of winemaker for the Hill Smith family’s Oxford Landing Winery inaugural vintage, where she managed the making of both the white and red wines.

Then, in 2008, Teresa accepted the challenge of becoming the Dunes & Greene Sparkling and Chardonnay Winemaker – the role she continues to develop today. Teresa feels she has come full circle with a return to focusing on sparkling and white winemaking. “I love the attention to detail required”, says Teresa.
