About Grove Estate
In 1987, Brian Mullany met Suellen Patterson, and on their wedding day in 1989, he began planting what would become Grove Estate’s 100-hectare vineyard. The Grove Estate Cellar Door, established in a former cherrypickers’ shed in 1999, is a testament to the region’s heritage. Mullany’s partnership with winemakers like Tim Kirk and Bryan Martin has produced award-winning wines celebrated both in Australia and internationally.
Situated in the Hilltops region with red volcanic soils, Grove Estate specializes in cool-climate grape varieties. The vineyard’s unique terroir has led to prestigious accolades, including the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2010 and the title of Finest Shiraz in Australia in 2014. Since 1989, over 50 hectares of vines have been planted, with varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Nebbiolo. In 1997, the partners decided to produce wines under their own label, starting with a Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Grove Estate offers a range of quality reds and whites, showcasing the diversity and potential of Hilltops’ vineyards.
L’Atelier by Aramis Vineyards was founded in 2012, dedicated to supplying a hand-selected range of quality wines to the independent on and off trade. From small beginnings we now operate across NSW, QLD, VIC and WA as well as in our home state of South Australia. Our distribution company was founded on our absolute belief that there was nobody better to represent our McLaren Vale brand than our own team. From that point our mission was clear - to bring together a collection of wine that would complement and match the quality of our own, and to present these to premium retail and hospitality trade across Australia. We believe in working collaboratively with carefully selected producers from Australia and beyond, each sharing the same passion and commitment to quality. Inspired by the Ateliers of 19th century Paris, we see ourselves as a meeting place for highly talented craftspeople at the top of their trade. Our portfolio consists of premium boutique wines from across Australia, New Zealand, Italy and Spain, all carefully selected to represent the very essence of their region, but most importantly at approachable price-points. We do not aim to build a trophy cabinet, we believe that you do not have to spend a fortune to drink like a king, and our selection reflects our ability to seek out wines that consistently over-deliver and represent the very best value.
