The epitome of classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, Ravenswood Lane is the link between the Hollick vineyards, Neilson’s Block and the Wilgha Vineyard.

First vintaged in 1988, The best parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Hollick Coonawarra vineyards are earmarked for Ravenswood and experience tells us that this fruit will typically come from the oldest vines growing in very shallow terra rossa soil.

Extremely limited quantities of this wine are made, spending eighteen months in French oak to promote the integration of fruit and oak flavours. Ready to drink on release, but will reward careful cellaring for 10 years.

The cool growing seasons and the terra rossa soils of Coonawarra make it one of the best regions in the world for growing Cabernet Sauvignon.

These conditions allow slow and even development of fruit, with the resultant wines displaying extraordinary concentration of flavour and varietal purity. Meticulous selection of the best quality fruit is made for our Icon series.

The 2018 season saw veraison advance by two weeks due to warm summer temperatures. The “Bonney“ coastal upwelling cooled March,
and extended the ripening period. Yields were moderate, and the typical slow cool ripening was very even, delivering fruit with fine tannins and strong varietal flavours.

The 2018 Ravenswood Cabernet Sauvignon was matured in French oak for 18 months. Only the finest barrels were selected creating the final blend. The Icon series is carefully cellared in bottle for 2.5 years before releasing on the 1st of June each year. Full
bodied, compelling and elegant style of Cabernet Sauvignon.

An Icon of Coonawarra.

About Hollick Estate Wines

Established in 1983, Hollick is a boutique winery located on the famed terra rossa soils of Coonawarra, in the Limestone Coast Wine Zone of South Australia. Driven by quality and a hands-on approach, all Hollick Estates wines are crafted from premium estate-grown fruit.

“Pride of Place” refers to our pride and respect for the role played by the “place” in which our vineyards are grown, the natural characteristics imparted by the vineyard situation, and the influences which our management practices make to the final product. Our carefully selected vineyard sites in Coonawarra and Wrattonbully have clearly identifiable regional characteristics which we showcase in each and every bottle of Hollick Estates wine.

Each wine bottled under the Hollick Estates label represents the history of the site where it was grown. Careful viticultural practises, overseen by Stuart Sharam, are married succinctly with minimalist winemaking techniques by Winemaker Trent Nankivell to ensure each bottle retains unique characters from the vineyard where it is sourced.
