About Mas de Daumas Gassac Wines
In 1971, Véronique and Aimé Guibert, creators of Mas de Daumas Gassac, began a wine adventure following in the footsteps of the monks of Aniane Abbey 13 centuries earlier.
Véronique Guibert de la Vaissiere is an ethnologist, specialist in myths and traditions in Celtic Ireland. Of Aveyron origin, Aimé Guibert comes from an old Millavoise family of glove makers and tack makers.
The management of the estate and the winemaking were then passed on to the second generation made up of Samuel, Gaël, Amélien, Roman and Basile. Today they are guarantors of the values of respect for their “mother nature” and the primacy of the expression of the terroir, the foundations of the estate’s wines since its creation.
We have been working at the Mas since the 2000s. After the death of our father and founder of the Mas de Daumas Gassac, in May 2016, we took over the total management of the estate.
We each have different responsibilities in managing it.
If we had to summarize our philosophy in a single word, it would be obvious. We are driven by the desire to produce authentic and true wines, reflections of our sublime and complex territory above all. As such, we consider ourselves more as smugglers than alchemists, with the desire to restore the soul and flavor of our terroir in our wines. The ambition is high and we humbly try to live up to it every day spent on our estates: above all, we wish to respect the wild splendor of the Haute Vallée du Gassac!
