Varietal: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon

Purple red with violet hues. Notes of Mediterranean heathland, alfalfa and rosemary are immediately striking, combined with morello cherries, soft spices such as vanilla and balsamic. The evolution continues with delicate toasty hints of cocoa.

While it has been aged almost exclusively in new barriques, it has a rare delicacy, grace and refinement – wine which is assertive and gains momentum with every sip. A wine that is alive, with a great acidity, giving it a certain tension.

About Tuscany

Tuscanyis a Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC, or controlled designation of origin) wine region in western Italy. The rolling hills of Tuscany, topped with medieval villas, vineyards and olive groves, are instantly recognisable to wine-lovers across the world. It is a region renowned for the quality of its wines and many of the most famous wine estates. Names such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano spark the imagination and the stellar stable of Super Tuscan IGT (Indicazione geografica tipica) wines from the region have become household names.

Sangiovese is the king of red grapes here, but many other indigenous and international grape varieties are grown amongst the hills, creating a rich tapestry of characterful wines that sing of their Italian origins.

Climate: Warm and temperate on the coast, with higher diurnal ranges inland
Soil: Multitude of subsoils, ranging from tufa and volcanic soil to sandstone and limestone clay.
Key Varietals: Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot
