Always in favour of Grenache being the prominent varietal with Cinsault and Mataro supporting the result being a delicious interesting and enjoyable wine.

Awards & Reviews > 94 SILVER – Dave Brookes Halliday Wine Companion

Vin de Soif has built a solid reputation as a crowdpleaser. A bunchy, bouncy little blend of grenache, cinsault and mataro that is light and vital and provides great drinking pleasure thanks to the dark art of whole-bunch fermentation and three simpatico grape varieties. It’s all plums and cranberries with amaro, funky exotic spice, citrus blossom, earth and light meaty tones. Zero thinking involved; imbibe, smile, refill, repeat. Just good fun drinking.

About Yelland & Papps Wines

Yelland & Papps is for wine lovers and enthusiasts of small batch, individual, elegant and distinctive wines. Those wanting a connection with a passionate, hands-on family winery.

Susan & Michael Papps shared love of wine and dream of producing their own wines from the vineyards of the world-famous Barossa Valley wine region came to fruition in 2005 with the establishment of their boutique wine brand, Yelland & Papps.

From the earliest days of Yelland & Papps, the relationships with longstanding Barossa wine growing families with a reputation for excellent farming and the highest quality grapes formed the foundation of the fledgling wine business.

These long-term friendships with many of the region’s best wine growers, each farming their wines on a selection of the famous terroirs that we have recognised across the Barossa, give Michael and Susan boundless options as they compose their individual wines each year.

The purchase of their beloved Nuraip Road property in 2010, with it’s own estate vineyards and winery sheds offered increased options for quality control and took Yelland & Papps to the next level as their soulful and thoughtfully produced wines garnered much praise from wine critics and a legion of fans who enjoy purely-fruited, minimal-intervention wines from Australia’s most famous wine region.

Today, Susan & Michael bring up their young family, raise livestock, grow their own produce and produce a range of diverse wines that reflect the intricate soils and microclimates of the Barossa.
