Vin de Soif – thirst quenchers, or, as the French say, vins de soif, which essentially means unpretentious wines that are measured not by their complexity, length or ageability but by the joy and refreshment they provide.

Michael and Susan started making a Vin de Soif blend in 2011, to bring to the table just this, but with the quality vineyards and fruit sourced these wines will age gracefully as customers have now realised and you do not need to be in a super hurry to consume.

The YP Vin de Soif equivalently always bats above its weight in value, predominantly declassified parcels that do not make the higher end Grenache ranges, luckily for some fall into the blend.

A blend of growers’ vineyards this wine is predominantly made up of multiple portions of whole cluster, whole berry ferments and destemmed parcels. Spending less than a year on elevage this is a fresh vibrant fruit-forward wine with texture and finesse.

About Yelland & Papps Wines

Yelland & Papps is for wine lovers and enthusiasts of small batch, individual, elegant and distinctive wines. Those wanting a connection with a passionate, hands-on family winery.

Susan & Michael Papps shared love of wine and dream of producing their own wines from the vineyards of the world-famous Barossa Valley wine region came to fruition in 2005 with the establishment of their boutique wine brand, Yelland & Papps.

From the earliest days of Yelland & Papps, the relationships with longstanding Barossa wine growing families with a reputation for excellent farming and the highest quality grapes formed the foundation of the fledgling wine business.

These long-term friendships with many of the region’s best wine growers, each farming their wines on a selection of the famous terroirs that we have recognised across the Barossa, give Michael and Susan boundless options as they compose their individual wines each year.

The purchase of their beloved Nuraip Road property in 2010, with it’s own estate vineyards and winery sheds offered increased options for quality control and took Yelland & Papps to the next level as their soulful and thoughtfully produced wines garnered much praise from wine critics and a legion of fans who enjoy purely-fruited, minimal-intervention wines from Australia’s most famous wine region.

Today, Susan & Michael bring up their young family, raise livestock, grow their own produce and produce a range of diverse wines that reflect the intricate soils and microclimates of the Barossa.
